I'm pretty sure the differences between in-game and replay are just side
effects of whether you're going to the menu item or pressing cmd+q.
Anyway, Ancestral is correct; this was fixed in 1.6.1 or 1.6.2, but didn't
make its way to trunk (1.7). I'll fix this for 1.7, and make it better in
1.6.3.
When fixed, it'll work like this: cmd+q is like clicking close on the window
(usually quits immediately). Cmd+w will be the shortcut for the in-game quit
menu item, which is the same as pressing escape, and which usually prompts
you whether you want to quit or not. When you say yes, it usually just goes
back one step (out of the current game, for instance).
