Follow-up Comment #2, bug #3869 (project wesnoth):
I was just running into exactly this issue with wesnoth 1.7.5 and the
campaign "Under the Burning Suns".
In this scenario it is possible to improve the resistance of Kaleh.
You can reproduce the issue with the attached savegame. Kill the Troll
standing next to Kaleh and choose "gain +10% resistance to blade, pierce and
impact". Then look at your unit description. It still shows all the old
values.
I am playing Wesnoth for several years now and just discovered something new
some minutes ago: The updated resistance values are shown in the HP tooltips.
I would say this is a very well hidden place!
