It sets too high resolution:
Checking video mode: 1024x768x32...
setting mode to 1024x768x32
If I specify on command line resolution manually, then it works. At least
1024x576 works, but it is still a bit too high. This looks reasonable:
wesnoth-unstable-nolog --smallgui -r 1024x550
