Follow-up Comment #2:
Execution reaches game.cpp:610 where cache_.add_define("DEBUG_MODE") is
called, but it has no effect. The cache_.add_define("EXPERIMENTAL") call a
few lines earlier doesn't work either (the "Teleport switch" label is never
created), so it's likely the cache_.add_define("MULTIPLAYER") call also
doesn't work. Perhaps something is clearing the cache after this point?
