It works for me on Ubuntu 9.10 running 1.7.12-1.8beta8
Log for P1:
P2 has joined the game
P2 has the same IP as: P1
P2 has left the game.
P1 takes control of side 2
P2:
goes back to the lobby, can rejoin or create a game.
