This is actually a feature and not a bug.
- When the preferences dialog closes the layout is recalculated*, this due
to
the fact that resolution might be different afterwards.
- During this recalculation the engine determines the new sizes for the
widgets, which might differ from the previous sizes. The engine no longer
uses a fixed size for widgets but an automatic calculation.
*) The recalculation can also happen at other times due to other causes.
