Details:

This is meant to collect the reports of the missing WML Child error. So far
there seems to not have been a reliable way to reproduce it. Available
information:
* Does happen in multiplayer.
* Seems to (only?) happen to the host.
* Seems to (only?) happen when an attack takes place.
* Games were played on the official server. No information about time of the
day when the games were played and if "server load" *could* be an issue.
* The problems seem to happen platformindependent.
* So far Crab and silene were not able to reproduce it, Johannes13 (a user in
#wesnoth-dev) was not able to reproduce it with debug information compiled
in.
* The issues seem to exist for a while already, an exact version is not sure,
but the oldest report of one of those errors was with 1.7.10, versions before
might already have been affected, too.

A change silene has done so far is making this error message fatal so that we
can get a backtrace.

Things that might help solving the problem:
* A backtrace.
* Saves/replays from this situation happening. If only one player (the host)
has this issue, it would help to get replays from all players in the game.
