Follow-up Comment #7, bug #16578 (project wesnoth):
Updated summary:
- The logo takes a long time to appear and the interface is mostly unusable
the whole time, while the processor is stuck at 100% (shared between Wesnoth
and X).
- Clicking anything while the logo appears causes a segfault. Backtrace is
provided.
- Moving the cursor around on the titlescreen or on the MP connection method
dialog (possibly other dialogs too) causes an assertion failure. Backtrace is
provided.
- Resizing the window causes an assertion failure at
src/gui/widgets/window.cpp:823.
- Loading a game from another game no longer works, the game is brought back
to the titlescreen instead. Similarly, clicking on "back to turn x" is broken
too.
- Typing in the MP dialog box now translates to hotkeys instead of regular
characters.
- The new layout is ugly. At least, four developers agreed. (See IRC logs
starting from 2010-08-29.) No developers expressed their preference for the
new layout (except his author).
- The arrows and enter and escape keys no longer navigate the titlescreen.
- The F5 key no longer purges the caches.
- Tooltips are now opaque at first. But once something has been launched
(e.g. a game), they become transparent, which is good. But they are then
permanently merged with everything else in an unreadable mess (scenario
terrains, other tooltips, and so on).
- There is a flood of "gui/event: Can't execute timer since it no longer
exists." in the logs; a hundred of them appear at once once the logo has
finished appearing and some more appears whenever the cursor is moved.
