Follow-up Comment #2, bug #17877 (project wesnoth):
OK, nevermind.
I wasn't aware of the fact that the scons setting "build=debug" is
persistent, so I always used an outdated version of trunk. Thanks to
loonycyborg for pointing me to it.
Now also this "bug" disappeared. I'm sorry. :/
