Follow-up Comment #2, patch #2755 (project wesnoth):

Fixed both those issues.  The funny thing is that I normally prefer to use
tabs, but wasn't using my usual text editor when I did this.
Progress bars require some sort of resource-consuming (not necessarily time)
process to be useful, I'm sure some UMC developer will come up with a good use
for them (magic points, resource levels for a campaign with other resources in
addition to gold, etc.), and as long as the updates don't have to be too
time-sensitive, they can be updated in a callback function attached to some
other widget (which is how I tested to make sure they worked here); presumably
a widget that activates some function that depletes the resource.
