Details:

The mainline TEAM_COLOR_OVERRIDE macro, used in a few places in lieu of
custom unit graphics for special/hero units (such as Tallin in NR scenario 1,
prestart event), does not work anymore in trunk.

If I had to guess I'd say the image path function mechanism refactoring in
r49215 broke it (perhaps RC functions later in the queue don't clobber
previous functions anymore), but I haven't checked myself yet.

Either way, it's very likely the "natural" team coloring for the unit's
actual side is being applied too early, which would render the
RC(magenta>{TEAMCOLOR_ID}) function in the macro useless since the magenta
palette pixels are already gone by the point it's applied.
