Follow-up Comment #2, bug #19126 (project wesnoth):
I have downloaded 1.9.12. The load files I could not reload with 1.9.11 work
great with 1.9.12 ( with a warning message that they were created with a
different version of Wesnoth ).
Do not understand what was happening here - but you seem to have it in hand.
