This is a duplicate of bug #18319
It is an upstream problem, unfortunately there appears to be another bug in
either SDL or Wesnoth that prevents me from applying the upstream fix. This
other bug raises an assertion whenever an objective dialog is displayed, so it
makes things worse than when the bug fix has not been applied.
The additional bug manifests itself when using SDL 1.2.14 without the full
screen fix as well.
