yes this is the suspected behavior now.

If you do not want to give the new control scheme a chance (you can get used
to it after a short period and it has some benefits) you can restore the old
behavior by assigning "Move/Attack" to the left mouse button and "Deselect" to
the right mouse button in the hotkey preferences.
