Details:
I just updated my operating system to Windows 7 and in doing so, decided it
was a good time to take on the latest version of Wesnoth (1.11.7).
The very first mainline campaign I selected (Heir to the Throne) unexpectedly
dies as it moves to one of the later scenarios, as follows:
Once I complete the "Hasty Alliance" scenario, I select the "End Scenario"
button to take me to the "The Sceptre of Fire" scenario.
This brings up the first screen with the "Across the chasm..." text dialogue
at the bottom.
I select "Skip", and the only things that change are as follows:
(1) The "End Turn" button shows up in the lower right.
(2) The "Menu" and "Actions" buttons show up in the upper left.
Unfortunately, no matter where I click (whether on a button or not), the
screen flashes once and on the next click (anywhere), I get a "Wesnoth not
responding" error. Those three buttons appear to not even be active, in
fact.
I am attaching my latest save-game file, which is named "Trent.gz".
