Follow-up Comment #3, bug #22991 (project wesnoth):

Just a few points of clarification:

I know it’s been suggested OS X 10.5 and PPC support may be dropped in the
future. Note that moving to 64-bit-only would also drop early 2006 Intel Macs
which are only 32-bit — it’s not many, and all of these machines are
officiall considered “obselete”by Apple (hardware repair support no longer
available worldwide).

10.6 is a 64-bit operating system — all Macs since late 2006 can run 64-bit
binaries. In other words, if you drop support for 10.5, everyone left will
have a 64-bit computer.

OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is actually still available from Apple
<http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard> for
$19.99 for any users who haven’t already upgraded (10.6 came out in late
2009).
