Details:
The documentation text files bundled with Wesnoth in the Windows build package
(README.txt, changelog.txt, etc.) all use Unix-style line endings, rendering
them completely unreadable when used with the default text editor (Notepad)
associated with .txt files on all currently-supported versions of Windows,
including Windows 8.1.
While it is possible to open the files with Wordpad or a third-party editor to
read them in this format, this is neither obvious nor convenient for
first-time users.
