Follow-up Comment #2, bug #22817 (project wesnoth):
Testing in 1.13.1+dev, I think this is resolved now. Whether using the
official on-line server or a local network MP game, the 'back to' function
allows you to temporarily switch to replay mode to view earlier turns. This
seems sensible to me and appears to be working properly.
So I think this one can be closed.
