That fixed it, wesnoth no longer crashes.
As for the error message, I was referring to what gets printed when I for
example do:
++
{CLEAR_VARIABLE tem[0]}
--
which results in the message:
++
error config: Error: attempting to delete non-existing child: tem[0]
