I prefer to have the editor fixed before 1.3.3 will be released.
Otherwise some people won't have a working editor.

I'm not sure a seperate branch will give the test coverage we want. I
prefer to make those changes directly in trunk.

Also if we want to use more boost libs I think they should have their
own test case in the configure script, since some distros (eg Debian)
split them in separate libs.
