It would be nice if you checked that this commit does not break stuff. I made
some short tests and so far it looks good, but with several thousand files
updated I am a little skeptical that those changes are really all harmless. So
if you see some issue in some image, please try the r48654 version and check if
that has the same problem.
In case that this update actually broke some images, the next step would be
finding out which optimization step (in the probably updated software stack on
my end) is harmful so that this one will no longer be used.
