Dear Mr Johnson,
If I were you I would pass up this wonderful bargain. I have a Y2K
Rempe Yearbook published be THe Rempe Family News, Denver Colorado
.{{[The publisher?? The Rempe Family News, 1181 s Parker RD.#105,
Denver, Colorado 80231] And yes it has a colorful "family crest" on the
cover. The price $40.00 plus $5.00. plus the last page has a list of
other Rempe Books for sale, cookbooks, etc, 7 in all for only
$199.00}}! It consists of sections, such as The Rempe Longevity Record,
The Rempe book of Locations, The Rempe Book of Births,The Rempe Book of
Deaths, The Rempe Book of Resident Records, The Rempe Census Records,
The Rempe Phone Book Records. Factual sure, anyone with a computer
could compile these lists. There is no history involved and no
connection is made between the lists of names. Some of the names are
familiar as they belong to our family history. I did not buy a book but
received a mailing to reserve a copy, a cousin in Wisconsin, bought one
and has sent it around. This is pure scam, in my opinion. Since I
could not pull up anyd information on this "company" of find any at all
about them I chose to pass. I'm glad I did. Even the mailing cost was
inflated, they made about a buck off that, even considering the cost of
an envelope. I wonder how many people bought one?
Sounds like you have this outfits number, this operation sounds exactly
as you described. They have probably pulled up stakes and moved to
Denver.
I'd like to say I have received a lot of help from your list replies and
postings as I am rewearching my husbands ancestors from the area of
Anreppen, Boke, Delbrueck, Westenholz in Wesphalia. I appreciated all
the information you have shared with the list. Keep up the good work.
