Obetia, you guys from Ombaci used to like acting (drama) in Mvara. upon the
completion of a scene and before the next, actors always take a break. I know
Oyulu is only thinking about a commercial break. Well that's what we have done.
As Droma put it we are digesting the different views eyo ma ale nyaza surely I
think we shall be back on course. Liberians are not different from Ugandans. We
all suffered in the hands of Slave Traders, war mongers, e.t.c Look how can
some one believe that sacrificing innocent kids can turn their fortune and they
become rich overnight. This madness has reached Northern Uganda. Are such
people different from their counter parts in Monrovia who believe in water
turning to blood. Africa needs to wake up from this slumber. Europe developed
because of Piracy, Loot, Plunder, adventure e.t.c. If our Great Grand Parents
in Africa conalized India for 400 years and shifted to Europe and then to
America would our fate be the same. I
mean would we waste our time together with the Ejiku's, Adibo's Mundua's,
Jacksons' to discuss about Donors?  Well we can now colonize the world through
Education. Look at Your good self,  a modern Colonial Master in Liberia, Idoru
in Nairobi, Adibo in Dubai, Ejiku in Bushenyi, Others in Kampala, Oguzu in
Washington, Onzivu, Lomo e.t.c Ya.... lets refocus the debate.

Gentlemen and Ladies,

If you were in Liberia and did not recieve more than 10 local telephone
calls last night, or your compound was not overwhelmed with water searching
residents of the community, or your security did not alert you of the state of
affairs, then count yourself friendless (of atleast liberian nationals).. I
counted 14 calls before ignoring. Then i slipped past the our security gate at
night and drove to talk to a good friend (a national).

First it was quiet with match watching and then the excitement of football as
any where on this continent.  Then suddenly, true ignorance prevailed over the
nations majority of mainly low urban and peri urban communities, as well the
rural. Then one good Liberian friend called me to find if i can get for him
additional containers for storage of water. I thought he had lost it, a
gentleman who is already enlightened in money making - door to door fresh fish
supplier.

Last night it was widely (accross the country) believed by many Liberians that
by the end of the night, anyone who failed to fetch enough water to last for
the next 3 days will perish (DIE). By the night various scenerio were being
advanced without reason. One gaurd told me this: "I finished filling my gallons
...ooh. Ein (read isn't it) the people say all water will turn to blood or
something?". Another caller said "the people (neighbours) are all over my place
to fetch water and say people who don't fetch will die". Etc and i hope i will
get more other believes, but in my office now it is subject of KABOZIEE.

Now Alaka, Mundua, Ejiku ...... , Acidri (James why quiete)... .etc .. tell me,
under what circumstances can a people take to such believes. Ignorance?
Poverty? Effect of Liberia like war? Hysteria of what type/name?

Atleast under current situations and as a result of their past or other
reasons, many Liberians find themselves failed to comprehend issues properly.
It was originally a news of good intention but poorly conveyed or understood. 2
Counties in Liberia are currently suffering attack from green worms (larva) -
for those who remember if you were in Arua, they were called Kaluche. There
was radio report that some of the areas would be sprayed to destroy the worms
and so residents of those villages should store enough water as the sources may
get conterminated for 3 days. And the next thing...? Monrovians who are 250km
away too were into panic of blood steined water, mud filled waters, etc.

Guys let us liberate ignorance through better education.

I thought this case of last night in Liberia, which i very much associate with
low education levels having happened at a time when i am watching discussions
on concerns regarding education situation in West Nile would make my point of
appeal to you: Please Re-focus the discussion for meaningful out come.

Best regards,

RObetia
