Dear Jackson Greetings from arua. I have thought of bringing some people on board and we start. I have been meditating on the following things in these last few days
1) identify a way of reaching more people of the region I found out that Radio Pacis (from Ediofe hill) covers the whole of West Nile, part of Congo, Sudan and even can be picked as far as Kitgum or Hoima. I already talked to the Director of this Radio (Fr Tonino Pasolini, an italian Comboni priest). He saw the problem and referred me to the person in charge of marketing but I found this option costly since they charge for talk shows about 200,000 ugx. Instead I approached Fr Matia Miria (the Education Secretary of Arua Diocese) to permit as use his airtime which is meant for Education programs. He has accepted and this is free of charge. I am also approaching Fr George Ezatirale to give us the airtime of Caritas on Development. So this will enable us to have 90 mins every week to air our concerns and get feed back from people all over West Nile. After gathering the views of people we want to prepare a questionnaire to be adminstered to the level of sub counties or villages to assess the magnitude of the multiple factors on the performance. This will be in a scientific approach. 2) Those people who intend to have on the various panels whould include mainly stakehloders i) Principals on the Primary Teachers Colleges of Erepi (in Moyo), Lodonga (in Yumbe), Arua PTC (in Arua), Paidah (in Nebbi) to find out why their teachers are not making impact on the PLE results? ii) Some parents (whom you could indicate for us) iii) Some teachers from the schools in central region who hail from West Nile region iv) Some of the West Nilers in various educational institutions. I think of Dr Christine Dranzoa (Deputy Director Post Graduate School of makerere university), Dr Richard Edema (faculty of agriculture MUK), Mr Asaf Adebua (Kyambogo University) v) our business community vi) some pupils and students to come and share with us their expectations etc vii) some politicians to hear what their constituents are thinking of problems which are biting us seriously viii) Bishop Drandua and Bishop Obetia who are developmental people so that their share with us their concerns as spiritual fathers and seeing that many of our schools were chuch founded Other comments, remarks etc are invited and even modifications are welcome. Even our brothers and sisters of the islamic faith should be brought on board God bless -- Ruffino Ezama, mccj Comboni Missionaries P.O Box 3872 Kampala Uganda (+256 77 2 62 42 40) (+256 75 2 62 42 40) [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] www.tualu.org
