Dear all This appears to be a very good wayforward for the life of all the future leaders who seem to be finding it very hard to show up academically in the environment at home. Am sure if we adopt a very thorough approach and start with serious consultation with the people normally involved in setting exams and marking.
This is because they seem to be knowing the trend of the changes coming up but have no fora for sharing the challenges of the current education and even if they do then the impact may not be much felt. So in addition to thinking about the teachers, parents, and other levels of importance in education, i have a feeling that the key persons in dertermination of the results (i.e. examiners and markers at various levels) should be pulled together and share with us the challenges and this becomes a very good stage for begining. It is always difficult to understand why those receiving teaching on the same syllabus, and text books and from qualified teachers may not be able to pass or pass at levels that varry so much when we compare to other regions, though the differences in the economic situations have some roles to play, there could be other ways that the fora could come in to address the existing challenges. I commend the initiators of the fora and i believe that it will contribute alot to the reduction of the gap in overall performance of our region compared to the others.
