George. We shall liberate the whole of Madi/Lubgara land from west nile, bunia, and Sudan. We are glad that as usual, the Church is by our side. lets keep up the spirit. --- On Mon, 3/30/09, ezatirale george <[email protected]> wrote: From: ezatirale george <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [WestNileNet] Maracha Terego District To: "A Virtual Network for friends of West Nile" <[email protected]> Date: Monday, March 30, 2009, 6:09 AM Bwana Caleb Alaka, This news brought mixed feelings in Arua for the time of the judgement.. Indeed it is great that sanity can prevail over selfishness. I do not come from Maracha or Terego, I am a Madi from Moyo, but have been disturbed by this deliberate calculation of some people in government to divide the same Lugbara people to see themselves in terms of Maracha or Terego. Ofcourse this is calculated to weaken the strong political base of FDC reflected in the last elections. We sometimes joke with Fr. Cyril Adiga who comes from Terego and Fr. John Inziku from Maracha that Hon. Otafire, the then Minister of Local Government has set a " MATEGO" which in Madi means a rat trap. We had even proposed to jokingly call it "Matego District" This is surely a very serious issue which needs our inputs at every level. Let the people come together soberly and first look at themselves as Lugbara and make a fundamental option to make a change in Lugbara land. I have ever been asking my Lugbara friends why has the great/large lugbara land with its population of close to 1 million have only one Town Arua? The Madi have Moyo, Adjumani, and now Pakele is a Town Board. The Alur have Nebbi, Pakwach, Paidha, and now Parombo, Panyimur, and Zombo (the new District Headquarters) as Town Boards. Why have Omugo, Nyadri, Odramachaku, Arivu, Logiri, etc not developed into Town Boards? We recognize the new struggle of Ovisoni Town Board in Vurra. This time if the politiicans fail to agree we can call the religious leaders for a retreat with the political leaders to make this vital decision.. Awadifo! Fr. The Judge nullified and quashed the decision of the Minister of Local Government declaring Nyadri as the Headquarter and name of the new district. The Judge prohibited any administrative structures set up in Nyadri as a result of the Ministers decision. The Judge remitted the matter of naming the District and finding a location of its Headquarters to the Councilors who used to represent sub counties from Maracha and Terego in Arua District.. He Ordered the Electoral Commission to convene a meeting of these councilors within twenty one days from the date of Judgment so that vote on the location and name of the new district after which they could elect their interim Chairperson. The meeting is to be in any place in Maracha or Terego but not Nyadri and Kubala. Guys this is an opportunity for us to get a well planned District. Forget about politics. We terego's and maracha's are one people. let our councilors get a vast land any where whether in Kijomoro, Ovujo, Omugo, Katri, Aripea, or even in the Boarder of Maracha and Congo. we should not rush for trading centers which are congested, have land wrangles and cannot be well planned. _______________________________________________ WestNileNet mailing list [email protected] http://orion.kym.net/mailman/listinfo/westnilenet % WestNileNet is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
