Ladies and GentlemenAs a general rule, mailing lists usually handle only text and thus there is an automatic 250KB limit on the size of emails.
Above that I need to approve the email to go to the list.
I humbly request members that attachments going via the WestNile network be limited to less than 1MB My small server has to multiply each mail that is sent a number of times and send it to each email address There are now over 100 emails on the list and large attachments choke my small server and small pipe.
My suggestion is break up the attachment into multiple emails of less than 1MB. I shall approve them no problem
But if you send a 4MB file that will turn into a 400MB file on the server (4 x 100) and also consume all the bandwidth I have
As I also run two other lists (although they are not as vibrant or growing as fast .... ) I hope this request is adhered to for the benefit of all.
