Ladies and gentlemen, By the end of this week, we will have spend two weeks on this topic. Friday is the dead line for posting anything related to Barifa Development. If there are any further suggestions/ideas/recommendation, this is the last week.
*Deforestion of West Nile Region* ** As these two topics are very closely related, may I ask all members of this team to focus their attention now on the deforestation & re-forestation strategy in general. We have all seen that the problem is already severe in all the districts in the region. Let's focus on practical solutions: a) How do we involve the people in tree planting efforts? b) What is the best method/approach for involving the tobacco companies like BAT, etc? How do we initiate dialogue with the tobacco companies on this matter? c) What are the local NGO doing in this regard? Are they actively educating people about the consequences of deforestation? d) Is the Department of Forestry doing anything so far? John J Avudria
