Dear All,

Please lets stop this debate about the name of the University.  What we need is
a University in West Nile region period!

I refer you all to the names of a few Universities around the globe,
specifically:

1.    Makerere University. (from a Hill)
2.    University of California. (from a State)
3.    Mbarara University (from a Town)
4.    Harvard University (from a County)
5.    Nairobi University (from a City)
6.    University of Botswana (from a Country)
7.    Oxford University (from an Industrial Scholarly place)

From all the above, its therefore essential to know what our University
represents (will represent) before venturing into a debate
about its suitable/appropriate name.

My considered oppinion is that, if the University is for the people West of the
Nile (from north to south) and Uganda in general,
then I therefore, support those who have proposed:  University of West Nile
(UWN), since the Nile is the natural feature that separates us from the rest of
Uganda, from which we derive the name of our region (West Nile).

Eng. Ajedra G.G Aridru (PhD).

Hello All

I personally think the opinions people are posting are very well placed. I
think people of west nile expected better offer or are hoping for a better
bargain! Can some one enlite us or me on the different types of universities[
Bit Public, .....etc] and probabilly what would be best for a region which has
lagged behind for long?
