Dear Friends, Many of you who read news papers regularly may have read the incidence of an armed robbery at Ediofe that left one border-border businessman dead and a traditional medicine men whose stomach was slit by thugs around Osu river.
As the population of urban areas continues to grow and unemployment abates the citizens, we are likely going to see a rise in crime rates if we do not take action to compact some of these problems. Many of you may have already heard of stories where thugs have been mugging people at night stealing money, cell phones, cutting roofs and doors, etc. Last year, we had some discussion on youth unemployment with NO concrete action plans. I am posting this issue for open dialogue for 2 weeks. What is being done to address this problem at the local level? Does anyone know? what strategies can we use to sensitize the population about public safety and security? If we do nothing about this prblem, one of these days, soon or later, one us will be a victim Avudria
