I to refer to Mr. Arumadri Joel's suggestion that led to postponement of the
seed project meant to distribute seeds to farmers in West Nile. New comers,
this was project initially aimed at averting the famine that hit our region
hard last year but because food aid wasn’t seen as a sustainable solution to
food security, members later rallied behind the idea of contributing for seeds
that could be distributed to farmers. Some funds were collected but
implementation was delayed on technical advice of one of the members. Now that
the rains have come and farmers are getting alerts from meteorological
department of Uganda to start planting, can we resume discussions and
contributions towards seed project? With a number of new faces on board, I
think our hands wouldn't be too-far-stretched for help. Treasurer, please let
us know where you stand and where we ought to be if this project has not been
suspended indefinitely.
