* “Do you want to be victorious over a man? I am a man. Let me tell you what
works,” said Father Setima.*
* **Here are the highlights from my notebook:** *

*1.** **Respect. Respect. Respect—it is above kisses and hugs. A man
needs to be respected.*
*2.** **Look approachable—men are very very insecure. Married women, do
not refuse your husbands.*
*3.** **Always ask a man his opinion and congratulate him, even if the
idea originated from you! *
*4.** **Forgive your man—especially if he has been unfaithful. He is
already broken, why beat a dead horse? Rather give him your love and
charm and he will come back! Check the woman he is going out with, what she
does and start doing it! The man will realize that he does not need another
woman, for you have all he needs.***
*5.** **Men are slow in decision making coupled with insecurity—don’t
reject a man since he will be further broken. Men fear rejection—so the
single women, make yourself more approachable, the married, more respectful
and forgiving.*
*6.** **Don’t make yourself look desperate, men fear a desperate woman. A
desperate woman sends a message that She is not an independent woman, hence
likely to be a burden—that you have a project you cannot finish and you want
the man to do it for you.*
*7.** **Make sure that it is clear to him, that you want him for himself
not for his resources(if he has any). A man must be loved even when he has
nothing. MmaSetima took me in when I had nothing—I knew then that I am
loved.*
*8.** **Be a financially independent woman—men love financially
independent women. Even in the New Testament, only women supported Jesus and
the Church from their finances—men are dependent on women. Be a woman who
can be relied on, financially. Not one who asks for pennies for hair,
clothes, salt etc. Be the Proverbs 31, virtuous woman (I liked this point, I
must say).*
*9.** **Every man need his den—don’t bother a man when he comes home and
he wants to sit somewhere silently or sleep. Every man loves his silent
space and time. Stop putting pressure on a man.*
*10.** **Renounce laziness, be good in the house and be good in
business as well.*
*11.** **Men like sex. They like to SEE a naked woman. Don’t start
praying in the bedroom when he wants sex. Now when a man sees you, he does
not see a spirit he sees flesh, “This at last is the bone of my bone; flesh
of my flesh!” that’s what Adam said when he saw Eve. Make sure you look
good—a man wants to see you looking good.*
*12.** **Go down—Just like Naomi told Ruth to wash dress nicely,
perfume herself and go to see a man, and to WAIT for the man to tell her
what to do—because yes you need to look good; to give a man his time and to
do down on the floor!*
*13.** **Teach your man romance—these guys know nothing about
romance. MmaSetima taught me!*
*14.** **Food—cook, cook good. Men like food—they eat. Cook better
than the restaurants, so he does not need to go out.*
*15.** **Be a God fearing and praying woman!** **“I am talking to
you as a man—who is your father—who knows what men are like. If you want to
be victorious over a man, these are the tricks that work! I am also a
husband and I have counseled. I really know what a man is like. Take it from
me and you will be victorious over a man.*
