Kiggs, For the record, I am not an atheist but a catholic who believes in God. In fact, I take my belief in God very seriously.
I find this essay interesting not because I agree with the issues raised but rather because of the way they are articulated. I am sure there are many who may enjoy very persuasive arguments when they do not subscribe to the idea being discussed. That is why I said it may only appeal to those who are open-minded and tolerant to views they do not agree with. Besides, religious tolerance would do us a world of good. Surely, with increased religious tolerance, there would be less religious extremism, the type that breeds suicide bombers and fuels international terrorism. My intention was not and is not to start a religious war. Such a move would be an utter waste of time. I do not want to be offensive and insult any body's belief on this forum either. By the way, insinuating that I do not believe in God by posting this article borders on what I am trying to avoid. To all those on this forum who may be offended by this, I say I am sorry.
