Dear friends, sons and daughters of West Nile, I am thankful to all of you for pointing out some of the crucial needs our hopeful political representatives must address. Together, we can bid farewell to the politics of self-aggrandizement at the expense of the majority poor.
Besides the enlisted issues, I would like to include *Mass** Media, Communication* and *Information technology *as* *dearly needed instruments for mobilizing people to implement socio-cultural, political and economic transformation in the West Nile region. Thanks to individuals or groups that have established some FM radio stations in the region. My particular attention goes to the extension of UBC TV services to West Nile. Do our politicians doubt the power of media in forging national unity and evoking sentiments of patriotism? Effective performance of media institutions will enable us to create unity, resolve and manage conflicts, as well as mobilize people to adapt positive changes that enhance self-esteem or affirmative pride as sons and daughters of West Nile while, at the same time, upholding continuity of our cultural values. Today if we are able to get together online and anatomize the depth of critical issues pertaining to socio-cultural and economic transformation of West Nile, it is due to the power of Mass Media, Communication and information technologies that are continuously in evolving to facilitate integral human welfare. How long are going leg behind in a world where people are interconnected and actively interact in a single information order?
