I found this quote interesting in a newspaper article-I think Monitor involving 
an MP and the comments by probably a former speaker,so when you guys want to 
resign then  actually do it:
 
"Technically,if someone states he is resigning in a future date,the resignation 
does not take effect until he actually submits a letter of resignation on that 
date or after that date clearly stating he is resigning  or he resigned in his 
letter.Stating that he'll resign as of some date in the future is not a 
resignation,it is a notice of his future action.The action is only valid and  
complete after he has actaully submitted a letter of resignation on the 
purported date !The MP is now required to submit his letter of 
resignation,otherwise he has not yet resigned in my view."
