Our own brother Yosa Wawa completed writing a manuscript on Kakwa Proverbs sometime back. This manuscript is with our own Ugandan publisher in Kampala. Like many challenges they face, the publisher has not proceeded with publishing because of the fact that he may not break even -- i.e. costs of publishing outweigh the benefits if the sales are too low to meet the fixed costs. I am appealing all brothers and sisters from west nile districts to offer to purchase one or two or three for themselves, their relatives, inlaws, favourite teachers, favourite schools or just to encourage our local authors and publishers. Even if you don't speak Kakwa, there are schools, libraries and other places that you can donate the book to. The publisher is copied on this email as well. Wawa and publisher...for budgeting purposes and to determine how many copies one would be willing to purchase, we would appreciate a preliminary price for the book (within plus or minus 10%).
