Thanks JJ for always pointing out what all of us know. I just do not know of a
way of WAKING UP our people to DO things.
Years back we had the West Nile farmers crisis. There was a call for help. It
was amazing that time how willing members contributed to that call and PAID off
their pledges. This was the kind of SPIRIT I was expecting from us about the
issue of EDUCATION but that spirit fizzled out with time. Is it because the
money we contributed was not used to help the farmers? What happened to the
MONEY? We NEED a report about the use of that money. May be accounting for the
money can give us some CONFIDENCE that the contribution we are seeking from the
members will be put into GOOD USE and not abused. My offer still stands and
this account should be based in Arua.
We all read about the BAD situation in Arua hospital. The last report was not
the first one because we had the same issues reported, may be last year. The
education issues we were trying to tackle were too big for us and may be some
people are not willing to help because they have no children in schools any
more, but we should turn our intentions to the hospital where every body may
need to go to in the future.
Could some one tell us how much the sewer costs and how much money there IS
available? Can we meet the difference? WE can also buy BEDS for our people. Let
us start contributing to the TWO PROJECTS which are SHORT TIME issues that we
can solve with out your government stepping in. The MP ARUA should call for a
meeting with the business peoples and talk about collecting money for the
hospital projects and the rest of us would then join him and his team to RAISE
money to join hands.
Are there any members who ARE OPPOSED to fund raising money for the hospital
and are not willing to improve the situation? There are many of us working in
the government who get paid monthly. Any pledges DO NOT NEED TO PAID only ONCE.
We can contribute small amounts till the pledge is met. And that is how I will
pay my share if there is BACKING up for the Arua Hospital.
It is our hospital and so the responsibility some how falls on us. You never
know you may be admitted there to find that you have NO BED and the AIR STINKS!
We need to SAY and DO SOMETHING about your HOSPITAL.
Thanks for reading.
Adiga Godi.

Dear Forum Members
If I recall correctly, WNF had an account opened a couple of years ago. Many of
us contributed for various reasons.
What we need badly is to start a process for collecting membership. Assure
members that there is reasonable accountability. The membership issue needs to
be urgently addressed and resolved. Some suggestion 2 years ago were either shs
50,000 or equivalent of $50.00. I believe the membership issue was never
resolved if I am not mistaken.
Our success of driving change in West Nile region depends on all of us. Our
failures also depend on our inability to cooperate, collaborate, unite our
efforts, and lack of enthusiasm, etc. How can always blame local leaders while
ourselves are failing to deliver?
Mr. Adiga may be dam right to be frustrated with what is going on. However, we
need to encourage ourselves to do better,
Great things happen when people with wisdom, talent and enthusiasm come
together to solve problems. I am sure we can do this. It is a matter of putting
together a committee of people who are committed deep in their hearts and mind.
