Those are my exact thoughts!!
I am suspicious of drug companies and know for a fact that their "donations" are primarily motivated by making humongous amounts of profit. We do need to be fully informed before jumping onto any "band wagon" and "allowing"/"encouraging" our innocent women and young girls to be convenient, unsuspecting and disposable "guinea pigs" for "drug cartels" whose main objective is making money!! Anything less is inadvertent "collusion" with these companies that have no qualms whatsoever about exploiting "third world" populations because they can get away with drug tests gone bad. These companies continue to present themselves as so-called "donors" in "third world" countries because they are fully aware that drug tests gone bad in Western countries can cost them billions in lawsuits. We do have to hold the "drug cartels" to Western standards if and/or when we "allow" them to conduct tests on our people because our people are as valuable as people in the West and we should never allow anyone to mess with them. If the "drug cartels" don't agree to the same high standards of ethics and understandings as in Western countries they should take a hike, leave our people alone and pursue their "dishonourable" agendas some place else!!

Not to take away from anything whatsoever from this continued effort for better health for ourselves and our people, I have long been very suspicious of drug companies operating and doing drug tests in so called third world countries where regulations are next to non-existent. I have spoken to a person or two about this and I was very surprised when one of the people i spoke to had the same views and had indeed heard of Drug tests gone bad in certain parts of the world but because there was no regulation or the power players had been greased, nothing was ever made of it.

This vaccine is already available in Uganda but in private hospitals and targets girls of about 11-15 years who are assumed not to be sexually active at that age given in 3 doses over six months as clearly stated.The vaccine helps to prevent them from getting cancer of cervix at a letter time. We are yet to get communications on public consumption on this from Ministry of health for the benefit of all Ugandans

One third of women in Uganda are estimated to have the HPV infection

number is projected to rise to up to 6400 by 2025.
Vaccination against HPV together with regular screening of
women can significantly reduce the risk of this
