Dear frineds,

If I remember correctly right from the beginning of WNF initiation, we all
impressed the idea of diversity and did ask the acting executive by that
time to extend invitation to other communities in West Nile (Kakwa, Alur,
Madi, Nubi, etc). WNF is community based organization. The articles of
constitution outlines objectives to operate in the whole of West Nile.

I believe WNF is open ended organization that welcomes members from all
corners of West Nile and associate members who may not come from West Nile
but they like the foundation. I think we should all try our best to reach
out to all the communities in West Nile, and encourage friends to join the
foundation no matter where they come from.

Unfortunately, parochial politics has taken toll on our people. If we start
thinking of ourselves by tribe, county, District, village, etc, how shall
we differentiate ourselves from other people who see us as West Nilers?
This level of division goes too far and nothing or very little can be
accomplished if we start to operate/function in that manner.

If I recall correctly, the idea of WNF stemmed from lack of development,
poor education system, poor healthcare system, etc. These problems affect
every part of West Nile and other parts of Uganda. Many of you will
remember that so much money has been spent on Northern Uganda
Reconstruction, but very little has come to West Nile region, although West
Nile is part of Northern Uganda.

Perhaps if we had been more organized, had more political influence and
clout, may be we could have gotten a little bit more for the region.
Unfortunately, humans beings are human beings. People who have influence
and clout always get more than people who are slow, ambivalent, naive, etc.
