Hi Members of the forum
The fact that Mr Nyai Simei of Mvara Kenya Zone a tested, senior but now
retired teacher my former Scouts master, and a senior citizen of West Nile now
was the brain child behind the National flag is not a new thing, who ever
doubts the old mans allegations, the address is as clear as above. If you got
the rear opportunity to listen to 'which i got' the old mans testimony, you will
surely be humbled. At one moment the old man will take you through the meaning
of every symbol and colors on the National flag how he developed the idea etc,
etc. I remember about two or three years back with the help of our brother
Jimmy Adriko of The New Vision the story about Simei Nyai's ordeal appeared for
public consumption, but due to the fact that we lack God parents in the
Authority to push issues, the story just died in the thin air. Any way no
wonder this is just a forum of rumor mongering, character assassination to
mention but a few.We pray that one time the
Living God will intervene and listen to the voice of the voiceless.
For God but NOT for My Country.
Over to you Congo.
Mickson

Hi Aggrey,
I agree with your suggestion. The starting point should be for a reliable
journalist (probably Tabu Butatgira or Angelo Izama) to establish the
authenticity of those claims and run a news paper piece on it to gauge the
national mood/response before taking the next step, which could involve a team
of lawyers who should be able to negotiate with Government and/or seek redress
in courts of law depending on how Government responds. I believe issue is
technically potentially a new material.
Thanks.
Sam

Need thorough research of his claim and probably run authentic findings, if so,
about it in The New Vision newspaper! Secondly, I hope he has copyright to the
flag design.

Dear Folks,
I have just heard from a friend that one Mr.Mateo Nyai
Simen, 84,born of Maracha district who designed the national flag in 1961 has
never been recognised by any government
and is now grumbling at his residence in Mvara ward,Arua municipality. Then I
thought about the story of late George
Wilberforce Kakoma ,the man who composed the national anthem and had to fight
many
battles in demanding a token of appreciation from the government.
How can this forum be of help to Mr Mateo?
Have a good week,
Kefa Atibuni
