Suits & Ties Hide The Beasts Inside? Let nobody lie to you, this Constitution has serious flaws.
Just reading through it, you'll find that many times it guarantees certain freedoms and good governance principles. Then the same Constitution contradicts itself later by prohibiting or going against those very principles. All in plain writing. Who is checking this? Because their is so much that will definitely have to be exposed and repealed. The Constitution isn't fair. How they got there might be explainable through intellectual linguistics, but is it right? How, for example, did they include articles that impede the independence of our human rights institution yet the same constitution guarantees the institutions independence? Is there anyone still fighting the good fight anymore in this country or is opportunism our new constitution? For several decades our so-called "educated leaders" dress in sharp suits, speak Oxford english, wear reading spectacles, carry intellectual books, discuss ancient Roman philosophy, lecture us about patriotism, debate sophisticated economic theory and pan-africanist ideology yet still act so lowly when it comes to preserving their control of state resources and the national cake. When those two issues arise, all decorum is thrown aside as constitutions are manipulated. How does one learnt fellow contain the animal in them that always wants all for themselves, to the point that it is now so visible in the Constitution? By Hussein Lumumba Amin
