Colleagues,

In Today's newspapers, the Japanese Government has advertised for Diploma,
Undergraduate and Postgraduate scholarships for 2017 and this is how to
apply;

Step 1

The interested persons should go to the Japanese embassy next to the
Ministry of Health HQ in Wandegeya and pick up free application forms.

Step 2

The forms should be filled in and returned to the embassy with copies of
university certified degree transcripts and certificates.

Step 3

The embassy will then call the shortlisted candidates for an English
language examination (previous exams can be found on the internet, please
check this website for past exams
http://www.studyjapan.go.jp/en/toj/toj0308e.html

Step 4

The Japanese embassy will then call the best students who excelled in the
English language exam for an oral interview where they will be asked basic
questions about themselves, what they know about Japan (economy, culture,
politics) and future plans.

Step 5

The selected candidates will be given a letter of acceptance from the
Ministry of Education, Japan and its from this point on that the student
has to use this document to search for a course and university of their own
choice, I remember I scanned the acceptance letter and emailed the
attachment to 3 professors in 3 universities in Japan until I got a
positive communication (The Japanese Government doesn't limit applicants on
courses so whatever the Japanese study, any foreign student can also apply
for the same course, in case you fail to get a course or university of
interest then then the Ministry of Education in Japan,Tokyo will help you
finds a course and university.

Step 6

After you are admitted into the University (accepted by the professor you
contacted by email), the embassy will then ask you to take your passport
for visa and air ticket issuance.
