As we watch the showdown on presidential legitimacy, social media has been
shutdown again. I am not sure why some of us are still able to publish on
all platforms. Thank God. But to those who can still connect, my view
remains steadfast on this matter. While we clearly saw electoral fraud, I
have not seen any proof of the claimed wins.
Meanwhile, I would like to say that I encourage everyone to express their
views freely with me. I have come under extreme attacks sometimes. But I
always tell my friends and family that's Ok. However, we should respect one
another and refrain from personal attacks on those who hold different
opinions from your own. Please proactively stick to issues. Hate speech or
statements that intentionally nurture such sentiments can only come from
intolerant people. Personally, I prefer humorous wit to rants. And if you
are aware that you once crossed the boundaries before, that awareness
definitely signifies respect for the right to free speech. One should
continue to cherish that awareness. Nobody can guarantee what happens once
the line has been crossed, though the effort should be that whatever
happens should be as prescribed by law. So let us remain as humane and as
decent as possible in our statements and commentary wherever the discussion
is being held.
Meanwhile, yesterday I happened to see the notorious police van number UP
4960 pass at break-neck speed under a heavily armed military escort. I
wondered which political opponent was being bundled, choked, kicked,
fondled or boxed inside the vehicle. An ambulance was dutifully following
them.
