Has this been decided/done?
I have created provision for adding galleries.
But lacks advanced features.
Demo: http://www.wfs-india.org/p/demo
(of course the colors + writeup format can be easily improved.)
If it is all right, then we will stick to this.
This setup cannot handle multiple galleries, each containing multiple
images.
There are two broad possibilities of deploying photo galleries:
1. A "Gallery/Album" content type, with multiple image fields.
There can be a "Gallery" for poster competition submissions, which
will show all images in a grid. Each image can be zoomed, with a modal
box. Similarly, there can be another "Gallery" for, say, some latest event.
Pros: easier to maintain and create new galleries.
Cons: Each image in a gallery will not have a dedicated URL.
This approach is similar to Facebook's albums.
2. An "Image" content type (similar to what has been done already),
along with a "Gallery" content type.
Each image needs to be added at first. Then a "Gallery" can be
created to group those images, by selecting which existing image you
want to add to the gallery.
Pros: Each image and each gallery can be accessed separately.
Cons: Tougher to maintain and will take more work.
This approach is similar to Flickr.
Which one do you want here?
