SSL is pretty widely used for interactive web sites, form submission with
credit card information, and similar sorts of applications where wget
isn't particularly helpful. I think most of the uses of wget are for
downloading or mirroring, and there just aren't that many SSL-protected
downloads or SSL-using sites that one could usefully mirror.
