Bugs fixed in the version in unstable (1.7) should be closed in the
bug tracking system, I believe.  The Debian wget maintainer would
probably be happy to be told "bugs x, y, and z are fixed in 1.7
and can be closed".

I already tried and didn't find anything.

I already did that and found a version which hasn't been updated since
June.

Also, the cvsweb link on that page gets redirected to

  http://sunsite.dk/sunsite.css

which says

  The requested URL /sunsite.css was not found on this server.
