It's not just redirects that fail to strip the "#" part of the URL either. E.g.: $ wget http://www.dnalounge.com/backstage/log/2001/11.html#8-nov-2001 --10:13:46-- http://www.dnalounge.com/backstage/log/2001/11.html%238-nov-2001 => `11.html#8-nov-2001' Connecting to www.dnalounge.com:80... connected! HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found 10:13:47 ERROR 404: Not Found.
