newbie: how to allow wget to overwrite files

dear wget gurus i'm a little new in this business so excuse my beginner question on my suse-linux (wget 1.5.x) I download every night virus-signature-files. these files always have the same file-names even if they are updated by the software-manufacturer. now wget realizes that these files already exists on my destination download directory and adds an increment (.1, .2, .3) to the file name. how can i avoid this and overwrite the (old) files.   thanx alot hubert
