in my first mail I forgot to attach my file. here it comes again....
--------------------------------------------------

Hi,

first of all: thanks for writing wget and supporting gnu. I am really
a fan of the fsf and GNu/linux.

I think i found a misbehaviour in wget, but i am not very sure. maybe
its a feature.

I attached a tar.gz file which have a testsuite for the bug i found.

If you have a html document which has an image tag like this:
<img src="/logo.gif"/>

It is renderd well in every browser i know and it is more accurate in
XHTML terms.

But if you wget this file, wget doesnt download the image file and
correct its path.

I think wget should behave another way. It should handle the
mentioned img tag like a usual img tag.

I really read the manual and didnt find any documents for this
behaviour or any command line switches to avoid it.

I hope my mail helps improving wget.

kind regards
janning
