Occasionally when wget loses a download and retries the incoming file is 
corrupted.



I note in some cases that the already downloaded data is deleted (or maybe 
overwritten)[1] and new data is written with the HTTP header mixed in with the 
actual data. 



Is there a list of 'known bad servers' or is this a known issue?



It seems completely random (site-wise, time wise ...)



[1] I'm not 100% sure about this.  The reason I think this (overwrite or 
delete) happens is that the HTTP headers that overwrite the existing data have 
something like 'skipping xxxx bytes', with xxxx corresponding to the block wget 
was retrying on.
